September 29, 2025 - Arellano University International Programs Division (IPD), successfully held its informative event entitled "Arellano Open Day: Destination Australia" at the AU Juan Sumulong Little Theater. The event aimed to provide students with valuable insights into educational and career opportunities available in Australia, particularly in collaboration with the university’s international academic partners.
The event was hosted by Ms. Aira Marie Estrada, Administrative Staff, international programs division. It was thoughtfully divided into two sessions: a morning and afternoon session - to accommodate students from different programs. Each session was concluded with a consultation period, allowing students to engage directly with representatives from partner institutions to inquire about academic programs, admission requirements, visa processing, scholarships, and other application procedures.
The morning session was attended by students from the Computer Science and Institute of Accountancy programs. It began with a warm welcome and opening remarks from Mr. Mario F. Sales, Vice President for International Programs, setting a collaborative and engaging tone for the day. The session featured distinguished guest speakers, including Ms. Monette Fetalvero, General Manager of BADA Philippines; Ms. Anne Rullan, Regional Manager of the Philippines, Australian Institute of Higher Education; Ms. Shannen Fong, Marketing Officer at King’s Own Institute was not able to attend but was kind enough to send a video presentation for the students to watch. The morning session concluded with a closing remarks from Ms. Geraldine Rilles, Program Chair of the School of Computer Studies.
In the afternoon session, students from the International Nursing Program and the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Program participated. This session was opened with a message from Mr. Philip M. Flores, Director, International Academic Linkages. Featured guest speakers Ms. Monette Fetalvero, General Manager of BADA Philippines; Ms. Myca Lavilla, Country Manager of Adelaide Education Group; and Ms. Princess Bonifacio, Senior Regional Manager for the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar at Edith Cowan University shared their respective presentations. The afternoon session wrapped up with closing remarks from Ms. Maybelle Joy M. Matol, Department Head of the School of Business Administration.
The "Arellano Open Day: Destination Australia" event was a great success, offering Arellano University students valuable information about studying in Australia. Through talks from expert speakers and one-on-one consultations, students were able to explore new opportunities and better understand the steps needed to pursue higher education abroad. Arellano University continues to support its students by building international partnerships that open doors to exciting global opportunities.
