| NCAA 85th Season Starts Rolling with Glitter and Pomp
 The Opening Ceremonies of the 85th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), in the words of Fr. Matt de Jesus, President of San Beda College, is the “most spectacular” in the history of the league. First, because the guest of honor in the ceremony is the Hon. Kristie Anne Kenney, Ambassador of the United States to the Philippines, and secondly, NCAA has become the country’s biggest collegiate sports league, with ten member schools participating.

| Chairman Cayco Inaugurates Nursing Simulation Lab; Presents Manny, the Human Patient Simulator
 One of the highlights of the visit of the faculty and students of Alderson-Broaddus College to Arellano University was the formal opening of the Simulation Laboratory (Simlab) of the AU College of Nursing on June 8, 2009. Chairman and CEO Francisco P. Cayco was assisted by Dr. Joan Propst, Interim Provost and EVP for Academic Affairs of Alderson-Broaddus College, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

| AU Chiefs Grandslam Winner in Fr. Martin’s Cup Basketball Tournament
 The Arellano University Chiefs came out champion in the Father Martin’s Cup (Division I) summer basketball tournament on June 14, 2009 at games held at the San Beda gym. This is the team’s third victory in a row – 2007 to 2009- and the most convincing one, with a 21-point lead against its opponent in the final games, the Philippine Merchant Marine School.

| CHINESE PROGRAM GROWING; 42 STUDENTS COMING THIS AUGUST
 Now on its third year, the Chinese Business English Program of the International Programs Division of Arellano University shows growth, with 42 students coming this August, 2009. This is almost double the first batch of 24 students and the second batch of 25 students.
