 PADAMA PRESENTS RESEARCH PAPER IN TWO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCESPosted July 05, 2010
Dr. Editha Padama, Director of Research and Publications Department of Arellano University presented a research paper at the Canada International Conference on Education (CICE) in Toronto, Canada in April 25-28, 2010 and at the 12th International Conference on Education in Athens, Greece in May 24-27, 2010.
Her paper was entitled Benchmarking the Practices of Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Science Education. This was a collaborative research project funded by the DLSU-CHED-ZRC. The co-authors in this project are the following: Dr. Ferdinand C. Lacuata (National Teachers College), Dr. Maricar S. Prudente (De La Salle University), Dr. Rebecca C. Nueva Espana (Philippine National University), Dr. Adora S. Pili (Technological Institute of the Philippines), Prof. S. Bunagan (Arellano University). Prof. Murita S. Panganiban (Assumption College) , Prof. Annie Cu Gallardo ( Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila), Prof. Melchora Ba ( Philippine Normal University ), Prof. Wilfredo A. Caingcoy ( PMI Colleges), Prof. Herminio P. Ceballos (PMI Colleges ) and Dr. Delia C. Navasa ( St Scholastica's College ).
The paper sought to benchmark practices of TEIs which were successful in the attainment of the planned and implemented curriculum in Science Education. It stimulated much reaction and interest from the other participants because the results established a pattern which is similar in their own countries.
Dr. Padama's participation in these two research conferences was funded by Arellano University, where she is also the Editor-in –Chief of the Philippine Education Quarterly ( Fact and opinion Journal of Arellano University) and The Magus ( the Arellano University research journal), and a part-time faculty in the graduate and undergraduate programs of the university.
