COMDEV OFFICE OF AU PASAY SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH GAWAD KALINGA ALAPAN OF IMUS, CAVITE

     A Memorandum of Joint Undertaking between AU Pasay ComDev Office and the Gawad Kalinga Alapan of Imus, Cavite   was signed in simple ceremonies held on February 6, 2010 at the Jose Abad Santos Campus in Pasay City.

     Signatories to the agreement were AVP Bibiana Jocelyn D. Cuasay  and Ms. Gesela Macas, ComDev Coordinator for Arellano University and   Mr. Jeri Vibar, Project Coordinator; Mr.  Edgar Purficacion, Sector Coordinator and Mr. Mario Munzon, President of Kapitbahayan Alapan for Gawad Kalinga (GK) Alapan.

     This formalized the agreement between the two parties to work together after identifying the needs of the community during its Participatory Rapid Analysis conducted in GK Alapan on February 1, 2010.  

     Identified needs of the community during this analysis were livelihood projects, education-related resources and health assistance. 

     Relevant to this, a student volunteers training was conducted on January 29 and March 2, 2010.  The objectives of the training were to familiarize the students with community development activities and programs, to increase consciousness and awareness on voters education, to set directions in the implementation of in-campus and community outreach programs and to develop teamwork among the volunteers.
