  CAS-PASAY HOSTS FORUM ON CENTRIST DEMOCRACY

The College of Arts and Sciences, Arellano University, Jose Abad Santos Campus, in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), and Centrist Democratic Movement (CDM)- Manila recently organized a seminar-forum on emerging trends in political and institutional reforms with special attention on the essential features of Centrist Democracy. The conference held on August 5, 2010 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, focused on the theme ‘Change Towards Soci-Economic and Political Order.’

  AU DLP PARTNERS WIN 2010 RAMON MAGSAYSAY AWARD

Dr. Christopher Bernido and Dr. Maria Victoria Carpio-Bernido, developers of the Dynamic Learning Program being implemented in all Arellano University campuses were chosen awardees of the 2010 Ramon Magsaysay Awards, Asia’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize.

Starting with Hotel and Management and Tourism courses last year Arellano University Plaridel Campus in Mandaluyong City now offers seven new courses, making it the fifth branch of the university to offer tertiary courses.

  Officials, Faculty from three Guangxi, China Colleges Visit AU

Officials and faculty members of the Beihai Vocational College (BVC) of Beihai City and Guangxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College (GAVTC) of Nanning City visited Arellano University on June 9, 2010 and July 2-7, 2010, respectively.

  Students from Nanning and Hechi Cities, Guangxi Province, PRC Attend Business English Course

Forty six students from the Guangxi Agricltural Vocational Technical College (GAVTC) of Nanning City and seventeen students from the Guangxi Modern Agricultural and Technical College (GMATC) of Hechi City, are now enrolled in the 5-month Business English course of Arellano University. This is the fourth batch of GAVTC students and the second batch from GMATC. The two cities cities are part of Guangxi Province, Peoples Republic of China.

  National Disaster Consciousness Month Celebrated with Fire Drill and Seminar

The Office of Civil Defense of the National Capital Region conducted a fire drill with the help of the Tanduay Fire Station, led by Chief Inspector Paul Intia Pili and Sgt. Danilo Galang on July 7, 2010 at the Legarda campus of Arellano University. The drill was participated in by employees, teachers and students of the Arellano University community.

  Padama Presents Research Paper In Two International Conferences

Dr. Editha Padama, Director of Research and Publications Department of Arellano University presented a research paper at the Canada International Conference on Education (CICE) in Toronto, Canada in April 25-28, 2010 and at the 12th International Conference on Education in Athens, Greece in May 24-27, 2010.

  2 AU INP STUDENTS GRADUATE IN ALDERSON-BROADDUS COLLEGE ; 3 AU STUDENTS NOW IN SAME COLLEGE

Eunice T. Abengoza of Pasig City and Karen M. Borja of Manila received their American diploma at the Alderson-Broaddus College with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing on May 7, 2010. The two are the first products of the International Nursing Program of Arellano University whereby students study at the Arellano University College for three years, and attend the Alderson-Broaddus College (AB College) for one year.
