INP Admission Requirements

The current admission requirements of the INP are as follows: 

Freshman Student Admission (For Fresh Graduates of High School)

 

Documents required.

1.      Completed Application Form     

2.      Results of the American Council of Testing (ACT), College Entrance Exam, or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

3.      Official Secondary School Transcript* (Form 137)      

4.      Certificate of Good Moral Character

5.      Copy of Birth Certificate

6.      Four 2 x 2 colored pictures  

*High School students may be considered for admission with their submission of official record of grades from First Year to Third Year High School and copies of their fourth year report cards containing grades of the latest grading period. 

 

Criteria.

§  Direct admission 

1.      ACT composite of 20 or above or combined SAT score of 950 or above.           

2.      Grade of “B” or better in two high school general science courses.

3.      Satisfactory evaluation in the screening interview and writing exam.

§  Provisional Admission**

1. ACT Subscores in English, Math, Science and Reading between 18-20 would not require students to take remedial classes; however subscores below 18 will be used to place students into remedial classes at Arellano University.

2. If SAT score is below 950, the student may be required to take placement exams for Math and English.     

§  In some cases, remedial courses will need to be completed prior to enrolling in classes required in the International Nursing Program and may result in the student being placed on a “5-year” plan. (i.e., 4-years of study at Arellano University before transferring to Alderson-Broaddus College.)

**Applicants who do not qualify for direct admission may be granted provisional admission. 

 

Transferees and Second Coursers

 

Documents required.

1.      Completed Application Form

2.      Results of American Council of Testing (ACT) College Entrance Exam or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Students with 29 or more transferable semester credit hours (or units) may not be required to submit ACT or SAT results.      

3.      Degree holders and transferees with 29 or more transferable credits should acquire an evaluation of equivalency from an independent American educational evaluator***, such as World Education Services Inc.

4.      Honorable Dismissal or Transfer Credential      

5.      Certificate of Grades      

6.      Certificate of Good Moral Character      

7.      Birth Certificate     

8.      Three 2x2 pictures 

*** If the evaluation indicates that the degree or credits earned are equivalent to an American degree or American college credits, this should exempt them from taking either the ACT or the SAT. If the degree is found to be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree, students will be exempted from taking certain subjects.

 

Criteria.

1.      ACT composite of 20 or above or combined SAT score of 950 or above. (For those with less than 29 transferable credits.)      

2.      Grade of “C” or better in one college level general biology course.      

3.      Satisfactory evaluation in the screening interview and writing exam.
