Overview
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science is a four year program consisting of general education subjects and professional subjects. The second semester of the fourth year level is the internship program of six (6) months in an accredited training laboratory with rotational duties in different sections such as Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Immunology and Serology, Urinalysis and other Body Fluids (Clinical Microscopy), Parasitology, Histopathologic/Cytologic techniques and other emergent technologies. Graduates of this program shall be conferred the degree - Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science.
Goal
The goal of Arellano University College of Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology is to become the forefront school of Medical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology, producing graduates who are holistically trained to work according to global standards of clinical laboratory services and health care leadership.
Objectives
The main objective of Arellano University College of Medical Laboratory Science is to produce quality multi-competent medical laboratory scientists/medical technologists. Specifically, the AU-CMLS is committed to:
1. Offer an affordable four-pronged competency-based curricular
program encompassing students:
a. Instillation with the spiritual, moral and ethical values called for
laboratory professionals;
b. Acquisition of necessary knowledge in clinical laboratory sciences;
c. Analytical and critical thinking and technical skills development; and
d. Leadership formation to assume managerial positions.
2. Enhance the students, faculty and staff social responsibilities thru
participation in community outreach programs advocating environmental
preservation and human general welfare.
3. Encourage the faculty and students conduct clinical and behavioural
researches of public health or professional interest.
4. Initiate and support programs for faculty and staff continuing professional
education.
